About Bermuda

Bermuda is in the Atlantic Ocean on latitude 32.19 degrees north and longitude 64.46 degrees west. We are 568 miles east of North Carolina, 729 south of Nova Scotia, 693 miles or about a 2-hour flight south east of New York, 1040 miles north east of Miami and almost 4000 miles or about a 6-hour flight from Gatwick Airport, England. People often think we’re in the Caribbean, but it’s actually over 1200 miles south of us. The inhabited islands are 21 miles long by 2 miles at the widest point and 22 square miles in total land area, which are divided into nine parishes connected by roads, bridges and a causeway. The City of Hamilton is where most of the large businesses have their offices.

The population is over 63,000 with about 27% being expatriate.

It is a British Overseas Territory, self-governed with Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. The Queen’s representative here is His Excellency the Governor.

Most houses are painted in pastel colours with white roofs.

We have some of the most beautiful clear blue water in the world, with pink beaches. It's ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving over the coral reef or wrecks.

The weather is sub-tropical - cool in winter, spring and autumn (fall) and humid in the summer.

It's a great place to bring children of all ages with lots of playgrounds, beaches and activities to keep them happy.
